Body Building – How Many Times A Week Is Good?

Written by admin on December 8, 2008

My boyfriend has started body building/weight lifting, and tends to go every day for no more then 2 hours. Currently his started going twice a day, is this healthy or is he becoming addicted. Any answers are welcome

As a weight lifter myself, I contemplate this question a lot too. The answer is different for every situation, every person, and every muscle. When it comes down to it, it is perfectly healthy to lift weights every day. He knows his body, and will be able to push it to it's limit...but not beyond. He can go until he gets injured if he's stupid, but I doubt he will. It is recommended on a general basis that males only do one area of the body every other day, 3 times a week. Lower body on one day, upper on another, etc...This rotation gives optimal times for proteins to enhance muscles and help them build up without tearing them down. If your boyfriend is taking a supplement for protein or something called "Creatine" he may be able to healthily weight lift at his pace. Creatine, which if you research you will find, is naturally created in the humans skeletal system. It allows muscles to "heal" themselves quicker, and decreases soreness. Taking this as a supplement is very safe, not anabolic, and is used more often then any other supplement on the market. My doctor recommends this, and even uses it himself! In the end, it is safe for your boyfriend, but you may want him to take some kind of vitamin or supplement to keep his muscles safe. Warn him not to injure himself, but otherwise reap the benefits of his work ;-)

everyday is not recommended for beginners
if u are heavy, probably 43 – 4 sessions of 50 – 80 mins per week is recommended

remember: u cannot build a mighty body just by exercising.

good food (30%)+ good rest(35%) + sound mental health(20%) + exercising(15%) is required for building a mighty body that men respect and women admire
