Why Are We All Getting So Fat?
Written by ama on December 29, 2008Your Body Is Your Temple
Your body is a direct result of your genes, what you eat and how much you work out. Well you don't have much control over your genetics, but you do have control over what you eat and how much you exercise. If you try to starve yourself to slim down you may be successful at first. However, you are doing damage to your body and eventually hunger will overcome you. That is why it is better to eat smart by eating healthy.
Balance Is Important
Balance is at the center of good nutrition. You'll not have to deny yourself the foods, treats, and even desserts you love. To avoid getting overweight you will need to balance these carefully. It is important that your diet contain enough fruits, vegetables, lean meats and nutrition supplements. Treats and desserts can be used to reward yourself for sticking to your nutrition plan all week. Assuming that you exercise enough to burn off the excess calories, you can maintain a desirable weight just by making sure that you have at least one week of healthy eating between one or two days of "splurging".
Are You Overweight?
When you are overweight, proper nutrition and exercise can help you lose that weight. A balanced diet means that you eat smaller amounts but more often. (like six meals daily) and take at least a half hour of exercise 3 to 5 times a week, and that weight will come off in no time. Unfortunately, there is no silver bullet for weight loss. You have to work at it. In the commercial and infomercial shows they are all panting and sweating till they die,but there is no need to do the same. A few walks around the block are sufficient to burn enough calories to help you lose weight as long as your nutrition is balanced.
