@breenythelad …
@breenythelad fructose is not only used for one thing, fructose is a sugar, it gets converted into glycogen which your body will determine what it is used for…..after a workout more time then not it will be used to replace glycogen stores and raise blood sugar levels/insulin

@steveoo6 potassium …
@steveoo6 potassium does helps…..calcium is what sparks a contraction in the sliding filiment theory (how muscles contract)

@barthelfitness the potassium in the banana also helps for proper muscle contraction after youve just exhausted the muscle, ill eat the banana at about the last exercise for the fructose and the potassium

@breenythelad It …
@breenythelad It all converts to glucose. Dextrpse is good, but the insulin spike is what’s relevant.

June 22nd, 2010 at 5:11 am
I thought your body …
I thought your body could only use fructose to replenish liver glycogen, thereby rendering it pretty useless PWO for muscle glycogen replenishment. And as for the insulin spike surely dextrose is your best bet.

@bearboy01 fructose …
@bearboy01 fructose is good, the banana has been show to be one of the most bioavailable source of carbs post workout, its just not as fast as dextrose….in fact its molecular structure is very similar to dextrose.C6 H12 O6,
and fructose is fine, its just depends on the molecular structure or the glycemic value of the nutrients…and most fruits are fine!
speaking to a nutrition consultant
friendly debate!

Bananas post …
(
Bananas post workout? Fructose is no good, Dextrose is your best post workout source ever…. fructose checks your liver glycogen storage before your muscles
