We could argue months about this. There is no point, I see that you know what are you talking about, so we will just let it go.
PS: TV is just for commercial users, so it is hard to find something honest or correct on TV, TV is here to sell as much crap as possible ( and we both are aware of it )

PS. Even though I think someone with more muscle weight needs more caleries I don’t believe they need much more protein than the average person. The trick is with protein metabolism and storage. I do believe a wieght lifter needs slightly more protien but not in super high amounts. Again there is not enough space here to explain myself but a person who doesn’t work out metabolises/uses pretien a little different than a body builder. Even though digestion is the same for both.

I didn’t specifically say that a person with more muscle needs more caleries but yes that is true. I was mainly talking about overweight people (ie fat people). I used to be super skiny growing up and into my early to mid 20s when my weight skyrocked often to up to 247 pounds mainly fat. After studying nutrition in college I now see a ton of advice given on TV often is missleading. Also some dies are deficient in nutrition. I do agree though the more muscle you have the more caleries you need.

I wouldn’t agree, person can get rid of fat if he/she spends more calories than eats, but in a proper way ( it would take me some time to explain this ).
But what have you said about muscles and fat is true, person with more muscles NEEDS more calories ( burns more calories = basal metabolism is at higher state ).
Unlike muscles, fat does not burn any calories what so ever, they do not require anything to “live”, they are just “stored” in you. But it is harder to walk an run with more fat.

I learned in …
I learned in Nutrition class something I’d like to share (not sure if it relates to anyones questions) but the only way basically to get ride of fat (which is stored energy) is by building muscle. Otherwise your body simply craves more food for caleries. The sad thing about being overweight is that its like carrying around sand bags, thus a fat person craves more caleries / more food. The body is seeking out the energy to carry the fat around. Not much room here to explain it better… sorry.

Fenvox79 is right, it was more popular in the old days but people still hold newspapers to show the date they started as proof. However there is one flaw… people can save an old news paper and pretend the pick was taken that day.
