Muscle Building Guidelines

All bodybuilders want to increase their size at a faster rate. No-one enjoys waiting, we all want results now. So it is very frustrating that it takes months or years to build muscle mass. However there are things that we can do to reduce the time it takes us to build muscle. So here are 10 hot tips that show you how to build muscle up fast. They follow now:

1. The Overload Concept. This actually means that you need to increase the workload you do at every single workout. On a consistent basis you need to push for improvements so that you are stimulating your muscles to grow. Growth can be repeatedly stimulated by continually altering the stress placed on the muscle.

2. 8-12 is the best rep range to be aiming for. This range of reps is proven to stimulate the most muscle growth for size. Whilst the 3-6 rep range will increase strength it doesn’t always lead to massive size increases. If you are doing over 15 reps whilst your muscles will increase in stamina they will not increase in actual size as much as a different type of muscle fibre is being triggered.

3. Each body part or muscle group should be trained for a maximum of 6-9 sets in any given workout. More than that can lead to overtraining. This will keep your workouts more intense and stop the body releasing catabolic hormones which adversely affect muscle growth. Keep your workout nice and intense to about 45 mins ideally.

4. Take on board enough calories. If you want to get big then you have to take on excess amounts of calories to support muscle growth. Excess calories are needed for muscle to grow. You must eat lots and make sure the calories are from good sources such as rice, breads, pasta for carbs, fish lean white meat for protein and fresh leafy green fruit and vegetables for vitamins and minerals.

5. Raise the level of protein that you eat. Protein repairs and builds muscle so is definetely required. If you are low on protein you won't build muscle. you can calculate the amount of protein you need to consume by:
Your Lean Weight Mass in kg multiplied by 2.75 = Your Daily Protein Requirement

To calculate your lean mass weight you need to first workout your percentage of bodyfat. This can be done at many gyms or an easier method is to simply take one gram of protein for each pound of bodyweight that you have, this is also a suitable guideline.

6. Consume Fat! This is a good recommendation due to the fact that it will increase the anabolic muscle building hormone that is released by the body. Some people increase this by taking steroids but a good bodybuilding diet can do this to some extent naturally and fats play a role in this.

7. Liquids. A great deal of chemical reactions in the body, such as those responsible for muscle building, require copious amounts of water in order to take place. it is therefore much better to increase the amount of water that you take on. This is a very good tip often overlooked when people are trying to build muscle fast.

8. Take it easy on the aerobic exercise and cardio workouts. Cardio training sessions unfortunately release a hormone that is catabloic in nature and will lead to muscle breakdown. It will leave less calories available for muscle building which are required for when you are building muscle at rest.

9. My favourite: Sleep. during periods of rest is the only time that your body can actually grow and sleep is clearly an essential part of that time. Make sure you take a good protein shake before you turn in. Starving your body overnight is the last thing you should be doing if you want muscle growth. At sleep your muscles have an increased supply of blood, your metabolism slows down and muscle growth hormones are released. All of these are ideal conditions for building muscle fast.

10. Remain dedicated. Never quit trying to achieve your goals. You won't be turning in to. Over a three month period if you follow the above guidelines then you will experience an increase in muscle mass which could be considerable. The above tips are practiced by many experienced bodybuilders and I assure you they really do show you how to build muscle up fast.
