How Well Does Creatine Work As A Muscle Building Supplement?

If not creatine, what other (legal) supplements are recommended? I'm looking to add more bulk, as well as strength and tone. Also, keep in mind that I am a woman and adding bulk is a bit trickier. What do you suggest?

In reference to creatine. Your cells are composed of a mixed membrane that is hydrophobic (hates water) on the inside and hydrophyllic (loves water) on the outside. Creatine is a simply hydrophyllic so it cannot pass your cell's membrane completely and enter the cell where biologically it is used. So it just attaches itself to the outside of the cell and attracts water. That is why when people use it they appear to bulk up. Really the "bulk" is just water and no muscle mass has been added.

Creatine is used by the body it is just that it can't get to where it is used. If a hydrophyllic group is added to it so that it can, it becomes a steroid and is then illegal. The best thing is to do different work out strategies that target strength, make sure you body has what it needs to build muscle, and ear healthy (high fruits, veggies, lean meats).
